COURSE AIM AND OBJECTIVES:

To provide delegates with the technical and practical information and knowledge how to enable the safe disinfection of water systems in accordance with HSC Approved Code of Practice and Guidance Document (L8) on the controls of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems

COURSE CONTENT:

Legal and moral framework and advice

Safe storage, handling and use of chlorine based chemicals

Biotical Treatment Methods

Calculating system capacities and chemical quantities

Chemical dose, pH factor, and residua measurement

De-chlorination Methods

Practical demonstration and exercises

Disinfection Procedures

Water Sampling

ASSESSMENT/CERTIFICATION:

Develop has agreed to joint certification arrangements with the City & Guilds of London Institute for candidates who are successful in assessment which are designed to test their ability to identify the risks, recommend remedies and carry out the procedures described above in a safe and hygienic manner.

The assessment consists of practical tests and written question papers. Successful delegates will receive a joint Develop/City & Guilds certificate with a note added to confirm that the course was approved by the Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority.
