DESCRIPTION:\n\nAUTHORIZED PERSON FOR MEDICAL GAS PIPELINE SYSTEMS - (This 
 a new addition to the centre which was successfully run in February 09)\n\
 nThis course is ideal for people who wish to take on the responsibility of
  being an Authorized Person for Medical Gas Pipeline Systems\n\nTHE COURSE
  CONTENT\n\nThe role of the AP (MGPS)\n\nIntroduction to HTM 02-01\, Medic
 al Gas Safety and Medical Gas pipeline systems\n\nSafety in the use of com
 pressed medical gases\n\nManifold systems for the provision of medical gas
 es\n\nProvision of central medical vacuum\n\nOn-site generation of compres
 sed and synthetic medical and surgical air\n\nCryogenic (VIE) systems for 
 centralised medical oxygen storage\n\nOxygen concentration systems\n\nWast
 e anaesthetic gas scavenging systems\n\nAlarm and monitoring systems\n\nMe
 dical gas terminal units and flexible connecting hoses\n\nUser equipment\n
 \nMGPS design principles\n\n\n\n\nMGPS installation practices\n\nValidatio
 n and verification procedures/use of test equipment\n\nThe Permit to Work 
 System\n\nMGPS compliance assessment\n\nMGPS Maintenance guidelines and co
 ntract management\n\nTraining and Communication\n\nMGPS Operational Policy
  preparation\n\nTRAINING METHODS\n\nFulfilment of aims and objectives will
  be encouraged by lectures\, practical demonstrations\, group discussions\
 , student presentations and simulations. Delegates will be exposed to onsi
 te working equipment forming part of "live" medical gas systems.\n\nSkills
  development will be encouraged\, for example\, by planning of test equipm
 ent requirements and sequence of actions necessary to complete satisfactor
 ily practical objectives.\n\nSkills transfer will be encouraged\, for exam
 ple\, by critical interpretation and analysis of practical and/or theoreti
 cal techniques in group discussions and by identifying familiar techniques
  in different (local) settings.\n\nOn successful completion of the course 
 delegates will be awarded a MGPS Services Ltd certificate.\n\nCourse Prese
