Foll owing the successful completion of the course candidates will be able to i dentify the importance of child play\, the legal and appropriate legislati on that need to be complied too regarding Playground equipment.\nImplement a safe system of work and maintenance inspection routine for all children ’s playgrounds. Be able to understand a logical and systematic approach to inspections and be able to identify a risks or hazards involved with th e playgrounds and try and eliminate these by introducing adequate controll ing measures.\n\nWHO WILL BENEFIT\nThe course is aimed for Operators\, Man agers and personnel who have a responsibility to provide safe play areas f or children within their facilities.\n\nWHAT WILL BE COVERED\n• Improve the play value of playgrounds and reduce accidents.\n• They reduce accid ents by the knowledge gained from children’s play and development\n• C arrying out Risk Assessments\n• Carrying out Analysis of available accid ent Data\n• Using and implementing the relevant standards such as EN 117 6\n• Playground managers have a legal and moral responsibility of care t o children using the site and at the same time they need to meet the expec tations of parents.\n• When carrying out inspections this should cover t he whole of the site – not just the equipment\, pathways\, fences\, seat s etc. all need to be checked.\n• A defined system of inspections is rec ommended to be put into place for playgrounds.
