COURSE AIM:To ensure that managers:

Understand their responsibilities for health and safety as an integral part of their management role;

They are able to recognize a sound health and safety management system, including effective risk management;

They are able to recognize the key risks in the industry and understand the precautions to be taken.


Upon completion of the course, managers should be able to:

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the legal framework of health and safety under which they operate;

Integrate health and safety management systems into the overall management strategy of the organisation;

Anticipate and recognize risks to health and safety and have the skills to address those risks.


The course is aimed at managers and supervisor’s, consultants or contractors in the construction and allied industries, and who have responsibility for matters of accident prevention and the avoidance of occupational ill-health.

All delegates after being assessed and having successfully completed the course will be awarded a SETA and / or an IOSH certificate depending on their success with a note added to confirm that the course was approved by the CHRDA.


This course will assist delegates who do not have a vast amount of knowledge on Health and Safety matters and are contemplating in embarking on a Health and Safety career.
