COURSE AIMThis course is designed to enable attendees to provide basic workplace instruction on the tasks and activities that are undertaken in their working area, as well as providing them with knowledge of all the associated Health & Safety Legislation.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

On completion of this course attendees will be able to: state the main requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, identify the Key risk areas associated with the Manual Handling activities within their areas, undertake basic instruction in manual handling activities and kinetic handling techniques within their own areas.

The course is for Sup[ervisors, Managers and Senior Managers who have been tasked to rain staff in Manual Handling.

Module nine:    Training Strategy 3 – Instructional Techniques

Module ten:      Presentation Assessment Criteria

Module Eleven:  The Principles of Manual Handling Assessment

Module Twelve:  Practical Assessment

ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATION:

All delegates after being assessed and having successfully completed the course will be awarded a SETA and / or an IOSH certificate depending on their success with a note added to confirm that the course was approved by the CHRDA.

This course will assist delegates who do not have a vast amount of knowledge on Health and Safety matters and are contemplating in embarking on a Health and Safety career.
