COURSE AIM & OBJECTIVES:

This workshop is to help to ensure that when a company has to carry out accident investigations, they have people in control that can identify the immediate and root causes of the accident and make judgments on the additional control measures that are necessary to prevent a recurrence.

On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

Identify the benefits to their company and their employees of undertaking a thorough accident investigation

Differentiate between the types of accident/adverse events that require investigating

Identify the immediate, underlying and root causes of accidents/adverse events

Understand the techniques for interviewing witnesses as part of an investigation

Identify the necessary control measures to prevent a recurrence

Identify the legal requirements for reporting injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR)

Use a systematic and methodical format to identify the causes and record the findings of the investigation
