COURSE BENEFITS & AIM:

This course is to make delegates aware of the Safety Rules and Procedures and European Legislation and train them to work safely at height, especially where the heights have an incline or brittle materials in order to avoid serious accidents. Working at heights can pose many hazards to employees, due to the risk of tripping, slipping or falling from the elevated platform and sustaining serious injuries. In particular, those working in the construction industry seem to be most at risk of falling from heights, with 37 per cent of all fall-related workplace deaths and 35 per cent of all injuries occurring on construction sites. Addressing this troubling prevalence of death and injury is a serious concern for employers in the construction industry. It is therefore important to understand all possible factors that may result in a fall from height.

While many organisations offer their employees working at heights training to help them prepare for the hazards of working on sloping roofs and unstable ladders, there is another common cause of workplace falls that generally receives less attention. Fragile roof surfaces pose a significant risk for those working at heights, as material that cannot sustain a person’s weight is often not easily identifiable.

At the end of the course:

• Have a thorough of the dangers of high risks on Working at height with potential dangers.
• Articulate the basic format, contents and application of the Safety Rules Procedures and Legislation and be aware of each team member’s duties and responsibilities,
• To choose how to carry out satisfactory risk assessments on particular tasks before executing the work.
• To work of Scaffolds, roofs, ladders, working with safety harness’s secured to life lines, what to do in the case of emergency how to react and who to contact.
